About the position

The Account Manager for the West Coast units of the Wish You Were Here Group is responsible for overseeing the accounting functions and providing financial information to assist management and stakeholders in making informed economic decisions. This role involves managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial processes and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank transfers.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries related to financial transactions.
  • Ensure financial processes are followed, including AP approvals and inventory submissions.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring company performance.
  • Support the production of the annual budget and forecasts, reporting significant budget differences to management.
  • Conduct accounting and financial analysis with a focus on capital investments and budget decisions.
  • Ensure accurate accounting and reconciliation for assigned areas as requested by the 3rd Party Accounting Firm.
  • Maintain reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts for each financial period close.
  • Work closely with management to collect receivables.
  • Review State Specific Sales and Use Tax Reports for compliance.
  • Prepare, review, and submit month-end inventory counts.
  • Monitor licensing requirements and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Oversee all accounts payable functions and assist external auditors during audits.

Requirements

  • 3 years of accounting experience.

  • Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
