About the position

The Account Manager at Airgas is responsible for managing the sales process and driving profitable sales growth within an assigned territory. This role involves selling industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as well as welding products and safety equipment. The Account Manager will maintain communication with various internal departments to ensure customer satisfaction and will develop strategies to improve market share.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sales process and drive profitable sales growth within an assigned sales territory.
  • Sell industrial, medical, and specialty gases and equipment, welding products, tools, and safety products.
  • Establish and maintain communication with internal departments regarding customer successes and failures.
  • Develop and execute plans to improve market share within the assigned territory.
  • Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations and proposals to prospective customers.
  • Qualify and pursue sales leads from other parts of the organization.
  • Keep management informed of territory performance and market trends.
  • Comply with company safety procedures and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science, business, or related field required (or up to 4 years of additional related experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior outside business-to-business sales experience.
  • Proven experience in solution-selling concepts and managing customers throughout a defined sales territory.
  • Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases, and industrial gas/welding supply sales is a plus.
  • Knowledge of customer segmentation and ability to prioritize high-value customers.
  • Experience with collaborative platforms such as Google Space and Salesforce.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in consultative sales approaches providing multiple layers of value to customers.
  • Deep knowledge of customer's business and industry trends.
