About the position

The Account Manager at Omni Logistics is responsible for overseeing and managing domestic shipments, ensuring compliance with customer instructions and company policies. This role involves coordinating with various teams, negotiating rates with vendors, and maintaining communication with customers throughout the shipping process. The Account Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of high-value freight while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Plan, quote, enter, direct, and monitor domestic shipments
• Ensure all customer instructions are entered into the system
• Ensure necessary shipment milestones are present and in correct order
• Work with operations team to determine routing for required service level
• Negotiate rates with vendors and request spot quotes
• Accrue vendor costs and work to resolve any variances
• Send invoices to the customers
• Ensure freight and documentation meets security, TSA, and company compliance programs
• Track and monitor entire process of cargo movement and keep customers up to date on movement details
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Five (5) years freight forwarding operations or account management experience preferred
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high volume of transactions
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to coordinate efforts with other organizations
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Team oriented
