About the position

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to process and record payments received from our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for processing invoices, managing payments, and overseeing receivables. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, the ability to multi-task effectively, and the capability to work independently. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that all accounts receivable transactions are handled accurately and efficiently, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. As an Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will process accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing, posting payments, and reconciling customer accounts. You will collaborate with the sales team to resolve any billing or payment issues and work closely with the accounts payable team to ensure the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices. Additionally, you will prepare and distribute customer statements and reminders for outstanding payments, respond to customer inquiries regarding their account status, and resolve any disputes or discrepancies. Your responsibilities will also include processing credit card payments correctly and entering data into the system, reconciling the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly recorded, and ensuring that all invoices are processed correctly without any omissions or delays. You will prepare financial statements by analyzing entries made during the day or week, prepare financial reports by analyzing sales, expenses, profit, and other financial data, and prepare bank deposits by reconciling statements from banks. Furthermore, you will identify customers' needs based on their profiles to provide appropriate services at the right price and assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable. Maintaining accurate records of all accounts receivable transactions will be essential to your role.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing, posting payments, and reconciling customer accounts

  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly recorded
  • Ensure that all invoices are processed in the correct way and no invoices are left out or late
  • Prepare financial statements by adding expenses and profit accounts by analyzing entries made during the day or week
  • Prepare financial reports by analyzing sales, expenses, profit, and other financial data
  • Prepare bank deposits by reconciling statements by banks
  • Identify customers' needs based on their profile to provide appropriate services at the right price
  • Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable
  • Maintain accurate records of all accounts receivable transactions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Must have an Employment Authorization document, SSN
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts and principles related to accounts receivable
  • Proficiency in using accounting software
  • Previous experience in a financial services or corporate accounting role is preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and account reconciliation
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal teams and external customers
