The Accounts Receivable Clerk at Keller Motors is a vital role within the Accounting Department, reporting directly to the Controller. This position is classified as non-exempt and offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16.50 to $19.50. The primary responsibility of the Accounts Receivable Clerk is to perform a variety of general accounting and clerical support tasks that are essential for the smooth operation of the dealership's financial processes. This includes reconciling daily cash, check, and credit card payments, matching invoices to receiving documents, and ensuring that all invoices are properly documented and approved prior to payment. The clerk will also be responsible for printing and obtaining signatures on accounts payable checks, distributing signed checks as required, and posting invoices into the computer system. In addition to these tasks, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will handle vendor inquiries, generate accounts payable and refund checks, and research vendor statements, phone calls, and discrepancies. Filing paid and unpaid invoices and statements is also part of the job, along with assisting in monthly closings. The clerk is expected to maintain a cooperative manner with other employees and perform any other duties as assigned by management. This role also involves submitting, canceling, and reconciling extended Service Contracts and Gap Agreements, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and managed. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, along with one to two years of related experience, preferably in a dealership environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong language skills to read and interpret documents, as well as mathematical skills to calculate figures and apply concepts such as fractions and percentages. Reasoning ability is also important, as the clerk must be able to follow instructions and deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. The physical demands of the job include regular sitting, using hands for typing, and occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds. The work environment is typically quiet, with regular exposure to a computer monitor.
