About the position

The Accounts Receivable Clerk at Barrett Business Services is responsible for managing the company's accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate billing, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor customer's account details through Sage and emails for non-payment and delayed payments.
  • Interact with customers to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Run a weekly AR report from Sage.
  • Manage past due customers and initiate collections after a reasonable time.
  • Make decisions regarding the releasing or holding of customer's orders and invoicing.
  • Process credit requests and create return authorization forms.
  • Update Sage and Excel daily batch and email managers.
  • Monitor parking lot activity and register vehicles in an Excel log.
  • Answer phone calls, route calls, and take messages.
  • Collect and distribute incoming mail to appropriate office personnel.
  • Restock supplies in the kitchen and restrooms.
  • Use postage machine and send outgoing mail.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of recent office clerical and accounts receivable experience required.
