About the position

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Accounts Receivable Specialist to join an esteemed company in West Des Moines, Iowa. This long-term temporary position is crucial for managing and maintaining financial records related to accounts receivable. The ideal candidate will possess strong collaboration and communication skills, as they will be working closely with various stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely collections. The role requires a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies and maintaining a systematic filing system to support bookkeeping and financial records. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will also be responsible for preparing bills, invoices, and bank deposits, as well as conducting account research and analysis to ensure the integrity of financial data. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where attention to detail and organizational skills are paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Post daily receipts and update accounts receivable ledger by applying transactions.
  • Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits.
  • Conduct account research and analysis.
  • Resolve any discrepancies or inaccuracies within the customer accounts.
  • Reach out to clients over phone or email to collect payment for overdue bills, loans, or other payments.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial and analytical reports.
  • Maintain up-to-date, complete, and systematic filing system to support bookkeeping and financial records.
  • Comply with relevant legal requirements, standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Finance or Accounting, preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar role, preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Strong understanding of billing and financial concepts
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
