About the position

TTI, Inc. is seeking an Account Representative to join our Business Development Group at our Corporate office in Northwest Fort Worth, TX. This role is pivotal in developing incremental business with under-penetrated customers by crafting value propositions that address specific customer challenges related to their existing supplier strategies. The Account Representative will engage in selling company products and services through various channels including telephone, internet, e-mail, and fax, targeting an assigned account base. Collaboration with branch personnel, Product Management, and Sales Management is essential to enhance customer penetration and identify new sales opportunities. Success in this role is measured by the achievement of defined sales objectives while maintaining high ethical standards and exceeding customer expectations. The Account Representative will qualify the existing customer base, identifying the size and scope of each engagement based on Business Development methodologies. Building rapport with prospects is crucial to position TTI as the premier service provider. The role involves increasing the active customer account base by compiling and qualifying leads from trade publications, factory representatives, and business directories, followed by proactive cold calling. Maintaining ongoing communication with customers to assess their needs and future purchasing plans is essential, as is applying suggestive selling techniques to explore sales possibilities beyond initial customer requests. In addition to marketing TTI products and services through direct contact, the Account Representative will negotiate contracts, provide pricing and delivery quotes, and process customer orders with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy. Key performance indicators include on-time delivery and minimizing incorrect orders through the Return Material Authorization (RMA) process. The role also requires researching and expediting customer orders, monitoring delivery dates, and ensuring product quality meets customer requirements. The Account Representative will utilize the company’s computer system, Express, to manage customer requests and activities effectively, while also expanding product knowledge through various resources. Participation in the TTI Total Quality process is expected to maintain an efficient sales cycle and uphold quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify existing customer base and identify size and scope of each engagement based on Business Development methodology.
  • Proactively build rapport with best prospects to position TTI as the 'best in class' service provider.
  • Increase active customer account base by compiling and qualifying a list of prospective customer leads from trade publications, factory representatives, and business directories; place cold calls on those leads.
  • Maintain active and healthy dialogue with customers to determine their needs and plans for future purchases.
  • Apply suggestive selling techniques and pursue sales possibilities beyond customer-initiated requests.
  • Actively market TTI products and services by direct phone contact, email, and other effective business correspondence.
  • Negotiate contracts, provide price and delivery quotes for customers, and work with others to negotiate special pricing from suppliers.
  • Process customer orders by entering them into the sales database for quote processing and delivery schedules.
  • Research and expedite customer orders, monitor delivery dates and product quality to meet customer requirements.
  • Prepare forecasts and activity reports for management when requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree with one to three years' sales experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional knowledge of company products and services.
  • Strong selling skills, including persuasiveness and tenacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to calculate discounts, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Proficient in writing reports and correspondence professionally.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and make responsible decisions.
  • Working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and computer systems.
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Word) required.
