About the position

Crown Equipment Corporation, a leading manufacturer in the lift truck industry, is seeking an Account Representative for Dock and Door Outside Sales. This full-time position is based in Indianapolis, IN, and is integral to maximizing sales of dock and door equipment, as well as parts and service within a designated territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing existing accounts while actively seeking new business opportunities. This role requires a proactive approach to analyzing market opportunities, identifying key personnel, and building strong business relationships to enhance the company's position in both existing and target accounts. The Account Representative will develop a comprehensive territory management plan to optimize time spent with customers, ensuring that sales objectives are met. This includes crafting effective sales strategies, proposals, and forecasts, as well as conducting product demonstrations and sales presentations. The representative will prepare quotations and maintain customer correspondence, utilizing online resources to keep accurate records of sales calls, customer files, and sales activity information. Regular discussions with the Sales Manager will be essential to align on sales activities and strategies. Participation in ongoing training programs and meetings will be required to enhance product knowledge and sales skills, which may involve travel to the Northern Kentucky branch. This position is ideal for individuals who possess strong communication, organizational, and time management skills, along with a self-motivated and responsible attitude. The role demands intermediate computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite, and a valid driver's license with a good driving record, as the ability to safely operate lift trucks for product demonstrations is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize the sale of dock and door equipment and parts & service within a specified territory.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, entrepreneurship, professional selling, or related business program is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and a sense of responsibility.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate lift trucks for product demonstrations.
