About the position

The Ophthalmic Account Representative plays a crucial role in managing major accounts within the ophthalmic sector. This position focuses on building strong customer relationships, monitoring account buying trends, and developing growth strategies for the assigned territory. The representative collaborates with Ophthalmic Sales Specialists and Customer Experience Teams to enhance sales expansion and maintain existing relationships. Responsibilities include data entry, order management, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist major accounts by building rapport and checking on the regular status of buying.
  • Proactively analyze account buying trends and develop growth plans for the territory.
  • Work in conjunction with Ophthalmic Sales Specialists to share strategies and action plans.
  • Verify and enter data from orders, troubleshooting to obtain missing information as necessary.
  • Communicate proper order information and turnaround times to customers.
  • Place customer orders and interactions into the CRM system.
  • Manage a book of business to ensure consistent revenue month over month and drive growth opportunities.
  • Complete proactive outreach and follow-up with customers to ensure needs are met and explore potential pain points for improvement.
  • Identify growth opportunities within the supported territory and execute plans to deliver sales results.
  • Participate in inbound and outbound selling activities related to leads.
  • Support timely onboarding and customer orientation activities for a seamless customer experience.
  • Initiate and monitor commitment compliance related to product purchases for all customers.
  • Develop relationships with key contacts for customers supported within the territory.
  • Provide a positive customer experience for inbound/outbound inquiries and online orders.
  • Create order documentation and trend analysis in an organized manner.
  • Assist supervisor with ad hoc data analytics and reporting when necessary.
  • Manage the customer complaint process when necessary.
  • Comprehend and implement SOPs, forms, and quality control activities.
  • Accurately complete data entry into CRM and order processing systems.
  • Document conversations related to key influencers and buyers at facilities.

Requirements

  • Typing skills of 50+ words per minute.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication, phone, and writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics, and order input and fulfillment systems.
  • Experience in healthcare or pharmaceuticals providing support functions is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college level 4-year degree preferred.
  • Accurate data entry in a high-volume environment with the ability to perform pricing calculations.
  • Prior Account Management or Representative experience.
