About the position

The Account Specialist II role at Aon Corporation is designed for individuals with experience in the Commercial Risk space who thrive in a collaborative environment. This hybrid position, based in Grand Rapids, MI, involves supporting Account Executives and Associate Account Executives in managing client accounts, particularly for complex clients. The role emphasizes building effective relationships, facilitating communication, and ensuring the timely delivery of client services and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Account Executives and Associate Account Executives on assigned accounts.
  • Manage key processes that serve clients, including complex clients.
  • Undertake client-facing and internal activities related to account management.
  • Support Brokers on Commercial Risk business as necessary.
  • Maintain effective and positive relationships with Account Executives and clients.
  • Facilitate the timely and accurate flow of information between clients and account team members.
  • Handle client open items lists and respond to client ad-hoc requests.
  • Support and monitor the renewal process, prepare client deliverables, and follow up for binders, policies, and endorsements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with Aon Client Services (ACS) for assigned processes.
  • Collaborate with Premium Accounting on client billing matters.
  • Handle routine and sophisticated coverage inquiries and endorsement requests.
  • Serve as key client liaison for various client documentation and requests.
  • Monitor and follow up on invoice generation, fee agreements, receivables, and collections.
  • Address and resolve problems as they arise.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less senior account specialists as needed.
  • Delegate work to support staff and ACS where applicable.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of commercial insurance experience preferred.
  • Property & Casualty broker's license preferred, or to be obtained within 120 days of start date.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with external and internal clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
