About the position

The Account Specialist role at Aon involves supporting Account Executives and Associate Account Executives in managing US business for Canadian clients. This hybrid position requires collaboration within a team to handle client-facing activities and internal processes, ensuring effective service delivery to complex clients. The role emphasizes continuous improvement in technical expertise related to international property and casualty insurance, while also managing correspondence and financial aspects of client accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Account Executives and Associate Account Executives on assigned accounts.
  • Manage key processes that serve clients, including complex clients.
  • Negotiate and secure coverage terms for global property & liability for certain assigned accounts.
  • Continuously improve technical expertise in international property & casualty insurance.
  • Maintain primary ownership of correspondence with Aon's overseas network.
  • Help clients manage cash-flow including premiums and Aon revenue.
  • Assemble coverage submissions for program renewals.
  • Support special projects such as due diligence and stewardship reports.
  • Manage execution of coverage documentation as needed.
  • Maintain open items lists on various projects for assigned clients.
  • Populate and quality-control Aon databases.
  • Assume responsibility for aspects of top-line revenue/account profitability.
  • Develop technical elements of the job to articulate the team's role to clients.
  • Focus on learning and improving technical and tactical elements of the job.
  • Champion a particular AGCN-department initiative.
  • Act as a resource for other team members.

Requirements

  • Experience in International Property & Casualty coverage is ideal but not necessary.
  • Maintain a current insurance broker's license or obtain one within the first 120 days of employment.
  • Experienced with MSOffice tools and possess strong communication & presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree desired or equivalent work experience in the Property & Casualty marketplace.
