About the position

The Account Specialist role at Fastenal is a full-time position focused on enhancing sales and customer service skills while supporting key accounts. The specialist will be responsible for building relationships with customers, executing sales plans, and ensuring the success of the branch by meeting customer needs and exceeding sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing a sales plan in a local territory to reach and exceed sales goals
  • Supporting the day-to-day needs of the branch's key accounts
  • Working directly with key accounts
  • Growing and maintaining an assigned book of business
  • Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success

Requirements

  • Possess a current full valid driver's license
  • Possess or are working towards a degree in Business/Marketing or have related industry experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
  • Strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
  • Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented
  • Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs
  • Pass the required drug screen
