About the position

The Account Supervisor in the Client Advisory Services Group at KWC Certified Public Accountants is responsible for maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with client guidelines. This role involves providing full charge accounting and bookkeeping services primarily to clients in the nonprofit sector, while also supervising junior staff. Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records by reviewing and posting transactions.
• Reconcile accounts and ensure compliance with client's guidelines and operating procedures.
• Provide supervision to CAS I staff performing similar duties.
• Balance and maintain accurate ledgers, including trial balances and prepaid expense schedules.
• Process payroll through software integration or manual journal entries.
• Prepare 1099s and manage business license and property tax filings.
• Provide guidance to clients on payroll, invoicing, and accounts receivable.
• Train and review work for junior staff members.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual work cycles for multiple clients.
• Communicate with key personnel to assist in grant report preparation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks.
• Strong understanding of general ledger reconciliation and Cost Accounting Standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to train and manage junior staff.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification in progress.
• Experience with payroll software and troubleshooting accounting software issues.
