About the position

The Account Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely charge capture and billing for office visits and inpatient charges. This position involves a variety of administrative functions, including data entry, insurance verification, and patient interaction, while also providing support as a front office assistant when needed. The role offers the flexibility of remote work options after training and meeting performance expectations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily entry of office visit and diagnostic charges, ensuring accurate charge capture.
• Enter coded office visit and diagnostic charges into the patient system.
• Research and verify information needed for outpatient billing processes.
• Input patient insurance and update demographics in the computer system.
• Balance daily charges and receipts, and print reports for daily updates.
• Assist staff and patients in resolving reimbursement issues with Northside billing.
• Perform insurance verification and reauthorizations, checking patient account balances.
• Communicate with patients regarding their medical insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.
• Serve as the initial patient contact, greeting patients and assisting with information and directions.
• Accurately schedule appointments and prepare patient records for daily appointments.
• Monitor patient wait times and ensure timely service.

Requirements

• Experience in data entry and administrative functions.
• Knowledge of medical billing processes and insurance verification.
• Strong communication skills for patient interaction and support.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with some remote work options after training.
