About the position

The Accountant 1 position at the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is designed for a motivated professional responsible for ensuring accurate accounting of the agency's physical inventory across its 600+ Fine Wine and Good Spirits Stores. This role involves collaboration with various departments to maintain inventory integrity and assess its value, making it crucial for the agency's operational success.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate accounting of physical inventory for 600+ stores.
• Verify all inventory reports for accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Reconcile reports detailing physical inventories.
• Identify loss, theft, and shrinkage issues.
• Reconcile close-out inventories.
• Confirm inventories of opening stores.
• Account for depreciation of close-out, obsolete, or de-listed inventory.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 15 college credits in accounting.
• Five years of bookkeeping experience with 15 college credits in accounting.
• Successful completion of the Commonwealth's Accounting Intern Program.
• One year as a Financial Programs Trainee or Fiscal Technician.
