About the position

The Junior Accountant at Meyer Tool Inc. is responsible for managing daily financial and accounting tasks, including accounts receivable, cash application, sales reconciliation, and supporting the monthly close and preparation of financial statements. This role requires effective communication with superiors regarding accounting complexities and will support audits as needed.

Responsibilities

• Integrate invoices for accounts receivable
• Perform cash application and sales reconciliation
• Manage credit collections
• Scan invoices for accounts payable
• Review invoices for processing
• Support account coding of invoices
• Tie invoices to supporting documents
• Prepare and post general ledger entries
• Perform general cost accounting for inventory
• Reconcile other balances and accounts
• Support the monthly close and preparation of financial statements
• Communicate accounting complexities or problems to superiors
• Support during audits

Requirements

• Strong understanding of accounting theory
• Must meet ITAR definition of US Person
• Associate's Degree in Accounting required; BS in Accounting preferred
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Solid time management skills and ability to multi-task
• Strong MS Office skills
• Willingness to learn and adhere to Quality and Safety standards

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience in the Accounting field is desired
