About the position

Iolani School is seeking a detailed, organized, and customer service-oriented Accountant - Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Business Office team. This full-time position is non-exempt and offers a salary range of $57,000 to $67,000 annually, based on experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing student billing and processing accounts receivable transactions, which include invoicing, collections, payments, records, and reconciliations. The role requires administering re-enrollment and enrollment processes in coordination with other internal departments, ensuring that families and various internal constituencies receive excellent service. Additionally, the Accountant will handle the cash receipts process and intake, support other accounting functions, and perform administrative tasks as assigned. This position is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity of the school and ensuring smooth operations within the Business Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage student billing and process accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing, collections, payments, records, and reconciliations.
• Administer re-enrollment and enrollment processes in coordination with other internal departments.
• Service families and various internal constituencies.
• Handle cash receipts process and intake.
• Support other accounting functions and administrative tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred.
• Strong sense of confidentiality and integrity.
• Proficiency in accounting software and intermediate Excel skills preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills, and ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
