About the position

This position at Compeer Financial involves providing accounting services to both internal and external clients, focusing on loans and leases. The role requires analyzing requests and creating accounting system entries while ensuring accuracy and exceptional service. The individual will also serve as a technical resource for team members regarding accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Completes accounting transactions accurately and timely.
• Analyzes and creates accounting system entries using appropriate procedures and accounting principles.
• Provides technical support for team members and vendors regarding accounting functions.
• Responds to and resolves complex issues and situations related to accounting.
• Works closely with team members to ensure issues are resolved accurately and timely.
• Identifies trends and interprets report information.
• Creates spreadsheets for data input and calculations, processing macros when necessary.
• Verifies entries of self and others to ensure accuracy in the accounting system database.
• Creates documents, forms, processes, and procedures for the department.
• Recommends process improvements and efficiencies within the department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years related work experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, client service, and team skills.
• High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
• Intermediate computer skills including MS Office applications and related accounting/reporting software.
