About the position

The Finance Accountant/Analyst will support the Technology business unit by providing oversight to financial reporting, ensuring integrity and accuracy of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting requirements. This role is crucial in building and fostering relationships across the organization and with the shared service center, managing the monthly close process effectively. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to pivot between multiple requests, meet critical deadlines, possess strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and current accounting concepts, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel. A collaborative spirit and eagerness to learn are essential traits for success in this position. In this role, the accountant will monitor month-end close activity and act as a liaison with the shared service center to drive accuracy of results while providing an open communication link between the groups. They will guide financial decisions related to business transactions by providing accounting and regulatory advice, as well as monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures. Ensuring a strong control environment is vital, which includes supporting, monitoring, and enforcing operational and SOX financial controls. The candidate will also be responsible for completing monthly and quarterly deliverables to assist in the analysis of actuals and forecasts, preparing monthly reporting and analysis of financial results, and proactively researching and resolving financial inquiries and issues. Additionally, the accountant will support various financial business cases, models, and standard templates, ensuring quality, accuracy, and focused analytic review. They will contribute to special projects and perform various ad-hoc reporting or analysis as needed, all while maintaining a strong customer service focus. Participation in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance operational controls, efficiency, and quality of output is also expected.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and current accounting concepts.
  • Demonstrate business acumen, with strong organization skills and strategic orientation.

  • Previous experience in significant process improvements, with ability to prioritize and meet concurrent project deliverables.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (primarily Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and working knowledge of enterprise financial systems (e.g., Oracle/Hyperion, SAP).
  • Experience with automation tools (Alteryx, Power Query, Advanced Excel) would be a plus.
