About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant or Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team at a real estate law firm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, and will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires proficiency in QuickBooks and at least 3 years in a similar role, with a preference for candidates with legal, real estate, or title insurance industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Manage data entry and weekly reconciliation for several escrow accounts.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and other financial accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for management review.
• Collaborate with outside public accounting firm to assist with tax preparation.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential.
• Familiarity with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and account reconciliation practices.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Legal, real estate, title insurance industry experience is preferred but not required.
