About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team at KD Financial Inc. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing insightful analysis to support business decisions. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
• Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Utilize Xero for bookkeeping tasks, including invoicing and expense tracking.
• Assist in budgeting processes by analyzing historical data and forecasting future financial performance.
• Conduct account reconciliation to verify the accuracy of transactions and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain double entry bookkeeping practices to ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
• Process payroll for employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Support the accounting clerk with day-to-day operations and administrative tasks.
• Conduct account analysis to provide insights into financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure all accounts are balanced and discrepancies are addressed promptly.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role within a finance department.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including balance sheet reconciliation, tax regulations, and payroll processing.
• Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero; familiarity with other platforms is a plus.
• Experience with budgeting, account reconciliation, double entry bookkeeping, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills to interpret financial data effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
