About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage the financial transactions of our multi-company operation in the construction services industry. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial insights to support business growth. The position offers high upside growth potential and a hybrid remote work arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts for multiple companies.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends and variances.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings.
  • Support the entrepreneurial partner group with ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in the construction services industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in owner financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
