About the position

The Accountant/Bookkeeper position at a private local company in Sioux Falls, SD, involves managing various accounting tasks with a focus on accuracy and detail. The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software. The successful candidate will be responsible for payroll, reconciliations, accounts receivable and payable, and other related duties.

Responsibilities

  • Bi-weekly payroll for employees & paying payroll taxes along with all that is involved with tracking for PTO, Benefits, etc.
  • Payroll reconciliations and reports
  • Assist in contract billings
  • Bank account and credit card reconciliations monthly
  • Sales Tax preparation and submission
  • Accounts receivable
  • Accounts payable invoice coding/processing/input
  • Special accounting and spreadsheet projects
  • Answer phone system as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experienced bookkeeper or accountant preferred, degree in accounting is a plus but not mandatory
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel
  • Experience with accounting software(s)
  • Efficient time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Ability to improve processes for efficiency
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good written communication skills and follow-up capabilities
  • Valid Driver's license
