This position will manage the finances of three companies: Dagger Machinery, TREQ International, and TREQ Heavy Haul. The role is crucial in contributing to the overall efficient operation of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting to the management team, as well as yearly tax planning for all companies. The accountant will be responsible for processing equipment and logistics sales, reconciling balance sheet accounts, conducting margin analysis, calculating commissions, and providing essential accounting support to the team. Specific duties include managing key operational accounting processes such as the equipment sales cycle, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned accounting responsibilities, and fostering a positive morale and sense of purpose within the team. The accountant will develop, implement, maintain, and document accounting policies and procedures to meet changing requirements, while also leading the growth and development of the operational accounting team. Effective communication is vital; the accountant will facilitate and participate in monthly and weekly meetings, conduct regular team meetings, and encourage an open-door policy to proactively seek feedback from team members. The role also involves managing all business activities related to ensuring a positive customer experience and maintaining the company’s reputation in the community consistent with the Core Values of DAGGER and TREQ. Additionally, the accountant will be responsible for evaluating, allocating, and managing financial resources, ensuring sound business practices are implemented, and adhering to all regulations and policies as specified in the employee handbook.
