About the position

We are seeking a knowledgeable Comptroller to join our team at MDX Safety Training and Consulting. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for documenting the company's financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and managing payroll. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and possesses a strong understanding of best practices in accounting. You will work closely with various accounts, both new and existing, to retain business and increase revenue, while also creating and achieving quarterly and annual sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Enter financial data and transactions
• Analyze budgets and other financial information
• Reconcile bank statements
• Prepare financial reports and statements
• Verify the accuracy of transactions that have been entered
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Create accounting policies to comply with all rules and regulations
• Process payroll
• Maintain the financial information of various accounts updated and reconciled
• Work strategically with the GM to provide structure and processes for all functions
• Provide stability and growth for the company through analysis and recommendations
• Offer extraordinary customer service to all clients and vendors on an ongoing basis
• Attend and participate in weekly operations meetings with the team
• Provide strong procedures for all financial functions supporting the operations team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• At least four years of experience as an accountant
• Experienced with spreadsheets and Microsoft Excel
• Proficient in QuickBooks
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
