About the position

Community Resource Services of Colorado (CRS) is seeking an experienced Accountant/CPA to manage financial operations for multiple clients, primarily special districts throughout Colorado. The role involves handling day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and preparing financial statements and audit reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills and be able to deliver excellent client service while working collaboratively with others.

Responsibilities

• Accounts payable, cash receipts, general ledger posting, and monthly bank and account reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, audit reports, budgets, and other documents and filings required under state statutes.
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Use accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
• Supervision and review of other accountants' work.
• Prepare audit workpapers and financial statements for review by outside auditors.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• Possess or be working towards a CPA license.
• 5 years of experience in accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and governmental accounting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to deliver excellent client service and work collaboratively with others.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple clients and projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with governmental accounting practices.
• Familiarity with audit processes and preparation of audit workpapers.
