About the position

The Accountant/Data Support II will work on-site in Salt Lake City, UT and will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and data support for internal customers. This may include transforming, transferring, and uploading large volumes of information into organizational databases and keeping records current with new data. Updating database records as information becomes available using many different applications. Additionally, this position may help with invoice creation, invoice tracking, and cost/revenue tracking in support of specific fundraising events. This position will act in many cases as the first line of review, correction, and support before data is verified/finalized by internal fundraising staff. This position will use tools such as Excel and NetSuite to access and reconcile various data touchpoints. The role requires a commitment to producing error-free work and maintaining data integrity. The Accountant/Data Support II will review and maintain data integrity submitted by partners through internal processes to ensure accuracy and identify duplication, or funds that may not have been recorded. Working in collaboration with the internal stakeholders to communicate and resolve any discrepancies that may have been identified is essential. The position also involves providing excellent support for internal fundraising stakeholders, which includes fielding support calls, chats, emails, and/or other communication from internal stakeholders with inquiries or issues related to supported data. In addition, the Accountant/Data Support II will assist with ad hoc Excel and data support for fundraising teams, control the data integrity by performing a comparative analysis of different sources, and may be expected to attend national meetings and conferences. This role is required to be in Salt Lake City with up to 10% travel, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain data integrity submitted by partners through internal processes to ensure accuracy and identify duplication, or funds that may not have been recorded.
  • Work in collaboration with internal stakeholders to communicate and resolve any discrepancies that may have been identified.
  • Transform and upload in-campaign fundraising data as received.
  • Act as the first line of review, correction, and support before data is verified/finalized by internal fundraising staff.
  • Provide excellent support for internal fundraising stakeholders, including fielding support calls, chats, emails, and/or other communication from internal stakeholders with inquiries or issues related to supported data.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and/or posting errors as needed.
  • Assist with ad hoc Excel and data support for fundraising teams.
  • Control the data integrity by performing a comparative analysis of different sources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or other specialized training/certification in accounting & data.
  • 3-4 years of experience in data reconciliation, data translation, accounting, math, or related technical experience (including Excel).
  • Basic skills in data collection, organization, and analysis.
  • Experience with data entry and data validation processes.
  • Ability to handle and maintain accurate records of small-medium datasets.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify basic trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including intermediate functions and formulas.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of identifying and resolving issues.
  • Flexibility in adapting to new tasks and instructions.
