About the position
The Accountant position at Brightside Academy focuses on managing financial transactions and ensuring accurate financial reporting within the early childhood education sector. Responsibilities
- Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries.
- Pays vendors, verifies federal tax identification numbers, schedules/prepares checks, resolves purchase orders, invoices and/or discrepancies and documentation.
- Generates and distributes 1099 forms.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Maintains historical records.
- Completes monthly credit card expense report and bank account reconciliation.
- Performs any additional duty as assigned by manager.
Requirements
- Associates degree in business or related field.
- 2 years of experience in payroll or related accounting roles.
- Advanced communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail with advanced web technology and MS Office skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
