Responsibilities

  • Learn to perform professional accounting duties in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Develop, review, and maintain departmental accounting and financial reporting systems.
  • Collect and interpret financial information and analyze financial records.
  • Monitor department financial systems to identify problems and recommend changes.
  • Exercise sound professional judgment in interpreting accounting policies.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, finance, accounting, or a closely related field, including at least 12 semester or 18 quarter units in Accounting and/or Auditing.
  • No prior experience necessary, but some experience in bookkeeping or accounting is desirable.
  • Possession of a Certified Public Accountant Certificate may substitute for the education requirement.
  • Valid California driver's license, Class C, may be required for some positions.
