About the position

The Accountant & Finance Analyst position at Sensient Technologies involves supporting the Natural Ingredients business by partnering with the Plant/Manufacturing Operations team. The role focuses on utilizing accounting and financial analysis to provide data-driven recommendations to management, ensuring effective inventory management, corporate reporting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Review month-end inventory balances and transactions.
• Post Journal Entries to GL and manage accruals.
• Work with plant management on inventory management and controls.
• Support the Controller with Corporate Reporting requirements at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations.
• Develop and report on production Key Performance Indicators to plant management.
• Review spending (Supplies, Repair & Maintenance, and Labor) on a regular basis and provide summarized information to management.
• Manage product standard costing (Bill of Materials, WorkCenter rates, etc.).
• Review and publish manufacturing variances.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Run Return On Investment (ROI) analysis on capital projects.
• Support sales team with ad-hoc analysis as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Finance and Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing and/or food processing business.
• Advanced level of Microsoft Office Excel required; MS Access is a plus.
• Good understanding of general ledger.
• Excellent organizational skills, leadership qualities, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred; CPA is a plus.
