This position combines the technical knowledge of an accountant specializing in foreign currency transactions and accounting, with the skills of a business consultant as you handle the Company's balance sheet risk exposure. Reporting to the Director of Treasury, you will be involved with the monitoring, accounting, reporting, and analysis of business activity related to foreign currency. As a member of the Corporate Treasury team, you will help leadership understand the Company's foreign currency risk exposure and the effectiveness of mitigation strategies. This position requires collaboration with various cross-functional teams across the Accounting & Finance department, necessitating impeccable attention to detail, a financial and analytic approach, and knowledge of accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate, track and report FX gain/loss on large projects.
  • Liaise with business and project teams to provide data to carry out FX hedging strategy.
  • Evaluate appropriate accounting for all foreign currency related activity.
  • Maintain reporting capabilities required to track foreign currency risk.
  • Maintain mapping of end-to-end cash positions for each currency.
  • Evaluate compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures over Foreign Currency accounting and derivatives and hedging and assist in the design and implementation of new controls and processes.
  • Preparation and review of various journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Play pivotal role in finance transformation and modernization efforts including system implementations and functional optimization.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum four (4) years of related accounting experience; extra credit may be given for public accounting experience.
  • Experience in accounting for foreign currency and FX derivatives is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be self-motivator, detailed, well-organized and have strong client service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Oracle and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience with Treasury Management Systems or Foreign Currency Management Systems is preferred, but not required.
