About the position

The Accountant/Full Charge Bookkeeper will manage all daily accounting functions for a small company with commercial rental properties and a parking division. This role is crucial for maintaining financial accuracy and supporting property management tasks, ensuring smooth operations in a business casual office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all daily accounting functions for accounts payable and accounts receivable including processing invoices, issuing payments, depositing payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure proper accounting procedures are followed.
  • Process biweekly payroll and remit corresponding 941 tax deposit.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and annual tax and other government filings in a timely manner.
  • Generate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Provide financial information and assist CPA tax firm in preparation of annual tax returns and quarterly payments for multiple entities.
  • Assist in the management of multiple commercial real estate properties.
  • Monitor tenant rent delinquencies and issues, following up with tenants or on-site property managers as needed.
  • Monitor lease expirations and renewals and assist in preparation of leases as needed.
  • Prepare year-end CAM true-ups and bill tenants accordingly.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper (5 years minimum).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in use of accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop and Appfolio).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Strong analytical skills for account analysis and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with tenants, coworkers, and vendors.
