About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant/Full-Charge Bookkeeper to support our Controller in St. Louis, MO. This full-time position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, and month-end close processes. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. The Accountant/Full-Charge Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. In this position, you will assist the Controller with daily accounting operations, manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, and process payroll accurately and on time. You will also perform month-end close procedures, including reconciliations and financial reporting, while maintaining organized financial records. Collaboration with team members to improve and streamline processes is essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and time-management skills, strong attention to detail, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Controller with daily accounting operations.

Requirements

  • Degree in accounting or 4+ years of solid general accounting experience.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant or Full-Charge Bookkeeper.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the construction industry (2 years preferred).
  • Experience with Sage accounting software (1 year preferred).
  • Experience with Excel (2 years preferred).
