About the position
The Accountant position at Fulton County REMC involves supporting special projects, financial reporting, and general accounting tasks. This role is designed for detail-oriented individuals who are proactive and enjoy working on diverse financial initiatives, contributing to the cooperative's financial health and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform accounts payable duties including posting and balancing subsidiary ledger, reviewing and coding invoices for payment, and processing approved payments.
- Act as purchasing agent, procuring materials and reviewing purchase requests for compliance and payments.
- Assemble, tabulate, and process cost data for construction and retirement work orders.
- Post labor, materials, overhead, and other cost accumulating totals on work orders.
- Prepare inventory for work orders and balance work order summaries.
- Maintain daily deposit records and update cash balance reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Maintain inventory records, capital equipment lists, and perform other asset management duties.
Requirements
- Accounting and clerical experience required.
- Strong analytical and financial skills, able to gather and analyze data for business decisions.
- Effective communication skills, able to present information clearly and interpret complex information.
- Negotiation and persuasion ability, able to convince others and present new ideas.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous cooperative or utility experience preferred.
