About the position

The Accountant I position is responsible for various accounting duties, including monitoring high volume email accounts, auditing loan fundings, reviewing outgoing wire transfers, and managing incoming payments. The role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on customer service and adherence to departmental procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor high volume email accounts for requests from closing offices and communicate frequently using Microsoft Teams.
• Audit loan fundings and all disbursements made from escrow bank accounts.
• Review and authorize outgoing wire transfers and audit wire instruction verifications.
• Review and allocate incoming payments including wire transfers, check deposits, credit card deposits, and ACH transfers.
• Make adjustments to issued escrow account checks such as correcting payees or placing stop payments.

Requirements

• Associates degree or higher.
• Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and adhere to departmental procedures.
• Demonstrate strong customer service abilities.
• Organized and self-motivated.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with title companies or in the mortgage industry is a plus.
• 1 year of experience in a title company or real estate setting.
• 1 year of accounting experience.
