About the position
The Accountant III (Senior) position at Robert Half in Richfield, Minnesota, is a long-term contract role focused on finance and accounting. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid arrangement, with specific onsite and remote workdays. This role involves a variety of accounting responsibilities, including journal entry preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting and audits.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process various journal entries including fixed asset, capital expense, and other accruals and estimates.
- Conduct depreciation calculations and disposal entries.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations for fixed asset and capital expenses.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and serve as a business partner to facilitate the preparation and reporting of financial results.
- Provide the necessary documentation to assist internal and external auditors during audits and reviews.
- Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by other team members.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements for subsidiary companies.
- Manage master data for fixed asset masters and project masters.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Requirements
- Proficiency in performing accounting functions and bookkeeping tasks
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation and financial statement preparation
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills
- Familiarity with auditing procedures and external audit processes
- Proficiency in policy review and implementation
- Knowledge of capital management strategies
- Ability to perform ad hoc financial analyses
- Experience with master data management processes
- Familiarity with depreciation calculations and accruals
- Ability to perform onsite financial reviews and verifications
- Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries
- Experience with financial software and databases
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is a plus
- Proven experience as a senior accountant
- Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- Legal right to work in the location of the job.
