About the position

The Accountant position at The Lyle Company is responsible for managing project-related financial records, ensuring accurate billing, and overseeing accounts receivable and payable processes. This in-office role requires attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients to maintain compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain project-related records and monitor all costs for project billing.
  • Process project billing and collaborate with project teams and clients for accuracy.
  • Report to management on opportunities for additional billing and project profitability.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable and Collections for assigned projects.
  • Process end-to-end Accounts Payable, including entering invoices and processing payments.
  • Issue 1099's and corresponding 1096 forms.
  • Maintain reports and files for the Accounts Payable process.
  • Manage Vendor Purchase Order Requests for all projects.
  • Track and coordinate Purchase Order Requests and issue Purchase Orders.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support the Month End close process, including project accruals and job costing.
  • Maintain vendor contract compliance and update databases as needed.
  • Act as the point of contact for the Property Management Company regarding facility needs and office support.
  • Backup Controller as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 years' experience in Accounting.
  • Prior experience in multiple business operations, accounting, and accruals required.
  • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organized and deadline-driven with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Customer/client focus and ability to work with all levels of staff.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
