The Accountant PRN position at Portsmouth Regional Hospital involves managing general accounting functions, including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis. This role is crucial for supporting the hospital's financial operations and ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain multiple general ledgers
• Prepare monthly journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations to close the monthly fiscal period
• Prepare detailed monthly actual to budget variance reports
• Prepare monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations, investigating discrepancies
• Prepare and post key indicators and statistics
• Assist practice management with financial information requests
• Prepare entries and reconcile Property Management Accounts Receivable accounts
• Manage lease payments and communicate with landlords
• Prepare and submit Sales & Use tax returns
• Audit cafeteria receipts
• Assist in quarterly petty cash fund audits
• Assist in annual budget process and year-end tax workpapers
• Assist with Abandoned Property reports
• Perform final review of Accounts Payable invoices
• Participate in the year-end inventory count
• Ensure processing and reporting deadlines are met
• Respond to requests for information from management
• Maintain confidentiality of privileged information
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement
• Work as scheduled, including one weekend per month

Requirements

• Associate Degree
• 1-3 Years Experience Preferred
