About the position

The Senior - Principal Accountant at Halliburton is responsible for applying knowledge of the company's business systems, processes, and controls to support sustainability reporting requirements. This role involves complex reporting, analysis, and collaboration with multi-functional teams to drive education and implementation of sustainability practices across the organization. The position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls, along with effective communication skills to maintain timelines and resolve complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of the company's business systems, processes, and controls under general supervision.
• Maintain a working knowledge of sustainability reporting requirements and upcoming regulations.
• Perform activities involving complex reports and analyses with related spreadsheets and applications input.
• Research and resolve complex issues and transactions, including related internal controls.
• Interpret and apply company policy, controls, and accounting principles related to sustainability reporting.
• Participate in multi-functional teams and develop project management skills while collaborating with subject matter experts.
• Support the education, communication, and implementation of sustainability reporting requirements across the company.
• Demonstrate knowledge in general accounting, internal controls, financial analysis, and reporting.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting-related roles required.
• Completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting, business, or a related field is required.
• Knowledge of US GAAP or country-specific accounting principles is required.
