About the position

The Tax Group at Robert Half provides a comprehensive suite of accounting, tax, financial management, legal, and transaction support services to a diverse clientele, including individuals, trusts, and entities involved in proprietary, private equity, and venture capital investments. This Senior Accountant position is a pivotal role within the Tax Group, offering a unique opportunity for professional development in a supportive environment. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing federal and state tax filings for various entities, including partnerships and corporations. You will also conduct first-level reviews of workpapers, identifying key tax issues that may have been overlooked by other teams. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, as you will perform research and analysis on critical tax issues, summarizing your findings for the Tax Group. Your technical expertise will be essential in recommending appropriate tax treatments during discussions with the Tax Group and other departments. In addition to domestic tax responsibilities, you will prepare and review foreign filings, including Forms 5471, 8865, 926, and FBAR, while tracking these filings and documenting analyses to support the positions taken. Interaction with portfolio companies will be a key aspect of your role, as you assist with tax planning, structuring, and administration. Collaboration with other groups within DFMC will be crucial for the success of the tax compliance season, and you will have the opportunity to educate other teams through training sessions on new tax reform topics and relevant tax issues. Furthermore, you will work closely with the IT team to develop and implement new technologies and procedures aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the tax return preparation process. Your role will also involve reviewing notice response packages for various taxing authorities and assisting with federal, state, and local tax audits.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and reviews federal and state tax filings for partnerships, corporations, and individuals.
  • Provides the first-level review of workpapers to identify key tax issues.
  • Performs research and analysis of critical tax issues and summarizes findings for the Tax Group.

Requirements

  • 2 - 3 years of public accounting experience in tax or similar experience in a family office environment.
  • Advanced tax technical skills with an emphasis on partnership taxation.
  • Experience with Forms 1040, 1120S, and 1120.
  • Demonstrable research skills.
  • CPA preferred.
