Corbisiero Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant/Tax Preparer to join their reputable accounting office in Plainview, NY. This part-time, contract position offers a flexible schedule and is ideal for candidates with strong accounting and tax skills. The role involves in-person work with additional hours during tax season, focusing on delivering accurate and timely accounting and tax solutions to a diverse clientele.

Responsibilities

• Tax preparation for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
• Finalizing Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statements.
• Staying up to date with current tax laws.
• Assisting with responses to tax notices.
• Assisting clients with tax and accounting-related questions.
• Data entry in CCH tax software.

Requirements

• Prior accounting firm experience is a must.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Desktop versions.
• Proven experience within an accounting or finance environment is a plus.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on maintaining high-quality work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and team members professionally.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Sure Prep, CCH Prosystems & Access helpful, but not required.
• Knowledge of payroll & sales tax helpful.
