About the position

The regional accounting manager position at a growing accounting office for a large franchise restaurant operation involves overseeing accounting operations for assigned Sonic Drive In restaurants. This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented financial professional with a strong background in accounting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/oversee all accounting functions including GL accounting and analysis, AP, and payroll.
• Process weekly AP check run.
• Perform monthly close functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Complete bank account reconciliations, including safe and credit cards.
• Input and review journal entries.
• Calculate and post monthly/annual accruals.
• File multi-state sales/use tax and payroll tax returns.
• Conduct year-end reconciliation and provide necessary information to CPA for tax return completion.
• Manage relationships and effectively communicate with all levels of management and restaurants.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 4 years of accounting experience.
• High proficiency in Excel.
• Strong computer skills.
• Demonstrated success in written and verbal communication, attention to detail, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• CPA certification.
