About the position
This position is part of the U.S. Accounting Shared Serviced Center (SSC). The SSC is responsible for centralizing and executing accounting processes, governance and controls and delivering organizational efficiencies via centralization of common accounting processes for US Operations teams. This position is primarily responsible for general journal entry processing, reconciliation, and some non-profit entity accounting. This position reviews data sources for accuracy and completeness, collaborates with business functions to ensure complete and accurate transactions are recorded in compliance with AbbVie policies and U.S. GAAP. The Accountant works under direct guidance of the Accounting Supervisor on the SSC team.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and process journal entries for the US Operations groups. Ensure all journal entries are audit worthy.
- Works with Operations groups to consolidate and streamline their non-value adding work under the RTR FSS team umbrella.
- Prepares BlackLine reconciliations for entity accounts. Work with Business Process Organization (BPO) to ensure compliance with new IPE SOX standards.
- Prepares financial statements and audit for non-profit entities. Work with external audit groups to complete submittal in a timely fashion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Minimum 2+ year's related accounting experience required.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Individual must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
- Must be proficient in Excel.
- Knowledge of SAP and BlackLine a plus.
