Our accounting team is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Specialist to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our bookkeeping operations, focusing on our AI-driven bookkeeping and tax products. This role involves managing comprehensive accounting tasks and ensuring seamless operations through close interactions with both internal stakeholders and clients. Our ideal candidate possesses robust problem-solving skills, capable of handling complex catch-up and clean-up projects efficiently. They engage effectively with clients to optimize their account setups and enhance their overall experience with Uplinq's services. The candidate will lead and support a team in bookkeeping tasks, leveraging Uplinq's technology solution and system to ensure consistency and accuracy in categorization, job costing, and reconciliation. They will be skilled in transitioning companies to maintenance bookkeeping, ensuring a seamless handoff to Accounting Specialists. The role requires excellent communication skills to clearly convey and explain intricate accounting data to clients as needed. Experience completing month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely close of financial statements is essential. The candidate should have 2+ years in both cash and accrual based accounting, with a preference for those with multi-client experience. Expertise in financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and U.S. GAAP compliance is essential. The candidate should be eager to drive continuous improvement in Uplinq's automated bookkeeping systems and contribute to our business intelligence solutions. A Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement comprehensive setups for new clients, ensuring seamless integration with Uplinq's bookkeeping systems.
  • Analyze and rectify any bookkeeping issues, identifying discrepancies and devising action plans.
  • Collaborate on high-level client interactions to refine and tailor accounting services.
  • Support and lead a team in bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in both cash and accrual based accounting.
  • Experience with multi-client accounting.
  • Expertise in financial statement preparation and reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
