About the position

The Accountant at BBB National Programs Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the Finance Department by managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with organizational policies and maintaining accurate financial records, contributing to the overall mission of fostering consumer trust in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Ensure invoices and related expenses are processed in accordance with organizational policies and observance of required deadlines
• Communicate and work with vendors to address issues and ensure compliance with contractual requirements
• Prepare reconciliations (bank reconciliations, general ledger accounts, etc.)
• Process and record cash deposits daily
• Identify, communicate, and assist with various collections issues
• Assist with the reconciliation of customer balances
• Process payroll and related benefits payments on a biweekly basis
• Assist in annual audit and month-end close activities
• Provide support for organization tax filings (1099s, tangible returns, etc.)
• Assist with 401k census reporting
• Ability to take on ad hoc projects as needed and handle process improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline (accounting, finance)
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles
• Comfortable working across multiple technology platforms that support accounting functions
• Ability to work independently to identify and solve problems
• Ability to work under time constraints and maintain composure in dynamic situations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent project and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Nice-to-haves
