About the position

The Accountant position at Rosecrance Health Network involves managing assigned accounting functions and providing ethical accounting services in compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires a strong commitment to the organization's mission of empowering individuals and families through behavioral health services, while ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Calculate and record accrued expenses for month-end reporting.
• Review journal entries for compliance with GAAP standards.
• Prepare daily or weekly bank deposits and reconcile cash receipts.
• Generate monthly fee-for-service and grant utilization reports.
• Prepare reconciliation schedules and distribute internal financial statements.
• Assist in annual audit preparations and review audit schedules.
• Lead or participate in project management and implementation of new technologies.
• Provide backup support for the Controller and Staff Accountants as needed.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain confidentiality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
• Two years of experience in general accounting procedures or equivalent education and training.
• Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
• Familiarity with behavioral health services accounting.
