About the position

The Accountant position at Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community is a full-time role responsible for performing general cost accounting and related duties within the finance team. This role plays a crucial part in the financial health of the organization, impacting the lives of residents and the overall culture of the community. The Accountant will participate in budget creation, month-end close activities, financial reporting, and data analysis, while also collaborating with cross-functional teams to support strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Participate in creating and developing an annual budget of $50,000,000, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
• Act as the point person for month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Provide data-driven results and insights to support financial planning and operational efficiency.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports for internal stakeholders and ensure compliance with bond debt covenants.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data and assist in strategic planning.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and be the change agent for implementing best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of financial software systems, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Driver's license required with a verified three (3) year safe driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of UKG HR and/or Payroll systems.
