About the position

The Accountant position at Butler America involves performing various clerical and accounting duties to support the financial operations of the company. This role requires a basic understanding of accounts payable and receivable, as well as bank reconciliation functions. The position is onsite in Phoenix, AZ, and is structured as a 4+ month contract.

Responsibilities

  • Perform light clerical duties within an accounting function.
  • Type, match payments, and check items on purchase orders.
  • Prepare bank deposits and perform routine calculations.
  • Answer customer inquiries and research problems or complaints.
  • Post and verify duties to maintain accounting records.
  • Review time and expense documents.
  • Schedule and communicate with customers to maintain efficient utilization of the Field Service Team.
  • Maintain a shared calendar of field service activities.
  • Ensure technicians have the appropriate equipment and qualifications for site visits.
  • Work with customers, vendors, contractors, and internal individuals to provide quotes and obtain purchase orders.
  • Order needed work equipment and maintain Fleet vehicles.
  • Create POs for payments to vendors as needed.
  • Facilitate and organize team meetings to resolve field service-related questions/issues.
  • Provide telephone support for the Field Service Department.
  • Collect field service technician timesheets and overtime weekly.
  • Work with the Field Service Manager to ensure Field Service Engineers have necessary instructions prior to customer site visits.
  • Assist in providing process improvements to the department.
  • Assist field service team with obtaining travel documentation as needed.
  • Manage vendor/supplier process, including invoicing and payment.
  • Reconcile jobs prior to billing and handle final invoicing to customers.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Experience with bank reconciliation processes.
  • Ability to perform routine calculations accurately.
  • Strong communication skills for customer interaction.
  • Organizational skills to manage schedules and documentation.

  • Experience in a field service environment.
