About the position

We are seeking a skilled Accountant for a permanent contract position in the electric utility and construction industry, located in Banning, California. The role involves managing financial records, ensuring accurate billing, and conducting audits to maintain financial integrity. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting practices and proficiency in various accounting software systems.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Accounting Software Systems and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning to manage and maintain financial records.
• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Conduct regular auditing to verify the accuracy of financial data and procedures.
• Manage Balance Sheet Account to reflect accurate financial status.
• Use ADP - Financial Services for efficient financial management.
• Leverage skills in Cl Programming for specific accounting functions.
• Ensure accurate and timely utility billing.
• Use Concur for travel and expense management.
• Maintain regular communication with states regarding revenue and holdings.
• Prepare and present quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Record and manage expenses related to debt service payments.
• Transition financial data into MIP for further processing.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least 5 years of experience in an Accounting role
• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems is mandatory
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required
• Knowledge in CL Programming is an advantage
• Familiarity with Concur is a must
• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is necessary
• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions is required
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential
• Auditing skills are a prerequisite for this role
• Experience in managing Balance Sheet Account is necessary
• Knowledge in Electric Utility sector is a plus
• Experience in the Construction industry is an advantage
• Familiarity with Utility Billing is preferred
